  • Lake Nona Medical City


    Lake Nona Medical City is a health and life sciences park in Orlando, Florida, United States. It is located near Orlando International Airport and within the master-planned community of Lake Nona. The city is home to the University of Central Florida's Health Sciences Campus, which includes the university's College of Medicine and Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences. In the future, the campus will also house UCF's University of Central Florida College of Nursing, the University of Central Florida College of Dental Medicine, and a teaching hospital. The medical city also includes the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, Nemours Children’s Hospital, a University of Florida Academic and Research Center, and Valencia College at Lake Nona. In addition, the Orlando Veterans Administration Medical Center, began seeing clinical patients from February 2015.

  • Dr. G: Medical Examiner


    Dr. G: Medical Examiner is a reality television series shown on Investigation Discovery and Investigation Discovery and Investigation Discovery. Dr. G, or Dr. Jan Garavaglia, was (at the time the show was produced) the Chief Medical Examiner with Florida's District Nine Medical Examiner's office in Orlando, Florida. This series features Dr. G working on unexplained deaths in Orange and Osceola counties in Florida, as well as similar deaths from her previous employment as an Associate Medical Examiner in Bexar County, Texas. The show features dramatic re-enactments of the events leading up to the person's death as well as the autopsies. Interviews with Dr. G, family members, and other people connected to the deaths are also shown. After a high-profile career, Dr. G went into retirement in 2015. The series was produced by NY-based Atlas Media Corporation, with Executive Producer Bruce David Klein.

  • Jan Garavaglia


    Jan Carla Garavaglia (born September 14, 1956), better known as "Dr. G", served as the Chief Medical Examiner for Orange and Osceola counties in Orlando, Florida from 2004 until her retirement in May 2015. She starred in the hit series Dr. G: Medical Examiner on the Discovery Health Channel which first aired in July 2004 and ran until 2012. Repeats of the show are aired on the Discovery Life Channel and Justice Network. The show is ranked No. 1 for Discovery Health and is also broadcast in Australia, Europe, South America and South Africa. Garavaglia has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Larry King Live, The Rachael Ray Show, The Doctors and The Dr. Oz Show.
