WVFI is the University of Notre Dame's only student-run radio station. While WVFI is currently broadcast via the internet, it hasn't always been that way. Founded by parent company WSND, WVFI was originally called WSND-AM, as the partner station of WSND-FM. The two stations split, and WSND-AM became WVFI: The Voice of the Fighting Irish.
