  • O'Mega


    O`Mega is a luxury charter yacht. She was built in 1987 as a small passenger vessel from the shipyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. In 2002 she was sold and converted into a superyacht. One year later the steel motor yacht was completed and handed over to the owner. It is estimated that the cost of O`Mega at the time of construction was 52 million EUR. It was number 29 in the Power & Motor Yacht magazine's list of the World's 100 Largest Yachts 2008. In 2011 she underwent a refit and her hull colour was changed from blue to white.

Smaller boats may also have tenders, usually called dinghies. For a variety of reasons, it is not always advisable to try to tie a ship up at a dock; the weather or the sea might be rough, the time might be short, or the ship too large to fit. In such cases tenders provide the link from ship to shore, and may have a very busy schedule of back-and-forth trips while the ship is in port. On cruise ships, lifeboat tenders do double duty, serving as tenders in day-to-day activities, but fully equipped to act as lifeboats in an emergency. They are generally carried on davits just above the promenade deck, and may at first glance appear to be regular lifeboats; but they are usually larger and better-equipped. Current lifeboat tender designs favor catamaran models, since they are less likely to roll in the calm to moderate conditions in which tenders are usually used.

    Incat Tasmania is a manufacturer of high-speed craft (HSC) catamaran ferries. Its greatest success has been with large, sea going passenger and vehicle ferries, but it has also built military transports and since 2015 it has built smaller river and bay ferries. Based in Derwent Park, a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, it was founded by Bob Clifford. The company builds vessels using aluminium construction, wave-piercing and water-jet technology. Vessels have been constructed up to 112 metres in length with a size of 10,800 gross tons and with cruising speeds of up to 58 knots (107 km/h).
